Geospatial Information Science and Technology, B.S.

The Bachelor of Science in Geospatial Information Science and Technology is designed to give students proficiency in spatial thinking and fluency in geographic information systems, remote sensing, data analytics, and visualization. The 32 core credit hours provide geospatial competency by focusing on critical geospatial knowledge, analysis, and technical skills. These core courses are augmented by 30 credits of electives, allowing students to build greater depth in aspects of GIS&T that are particularly relevant to their personal goals and interests. A discipline concentration (such as a minor) outside of GIST is also required to build knowledge of underlying theory and problem-solving capability in the context of a specific discipline.

Experiential learning is also built in with options for learning by doing through internships or guided projects mentored by our research faculty.
