Citations:                                                                                                                   The AHC requires that material be fully and accurately cited. AHC recommended citation guidelines are available as a handout on-site and are posted on the AHC website.
Copyright:                                                                                                                  The American Heritage Center does not own copyright for all materials in its collections. Researchers assume full responsibility for conforming to the laws governing the use and publication of collection materials held by the American Heritage Center (e.g., Copyright, Title 17 of the U.S. Code, state privacy laws, laws of liable).  If reproductions are intended for publication or any other end for which US Copyright law grants the copyright holder exclusive rights, the party requesting or creating the reproductions assumes all responsibility for clearing production rights and for any infringement of the U.S. Copyright Code.

Notice: Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions                                           The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
