We work with each group
individually, and will tailor the experience to your needs. Everything begins with the artwork
on exhibit. We will view the artwork, engage in discussions, and if time permits,
go into the studio to create new artwork based on the art observed, ideas explored
and conversations we have had in the galleries. We recommend at least 45 minutes for
an experience
, and an additional 45 minutes for a studio activity.
Anyone can schedule an educational experience and the museum. We work with Preschool-12
school groups, community groups, college/university, and the general public. There
is no charge for a one-time museum experience.
Please schedule your self-guided experience. An education team member or volunteer
may be available to greet you and answer questions.
The museum is a busy place and it is helpful to know what groups may be visiting. It will also
help you to know what other concurrent events with be occurring during your visit.

and full-day sessions with schools, which allows for in-depth inquiry and creative

We relish planning with teachers to meet their needs, including pre and
post visit activities. Contact the Curator of Academic Engagement, Raechel Cook.
We prefer to keep a low student/adult ratio (10/1) when possible. We will work with
you to address your needs.
Check our exhibitions page to see what exhibits are on display in the galleries. Then talk with a member of
the education team. With advance notice, we can explore options for viewing pieces from our collection
that are not currently on display
