Advanced Materials & Computational Engineering

Faculty conducting research in these areas focus on synthesis of novel materials, the use of novel materials for separations and coatings, computational modeling, and simulation of chemical and biological systems. Activities consist of the design, development, and characterization of new materials, such as anti-microbial coatings isolated from plant material, proteins engineering to extract critical minerals, novel materials for use in next generation batteries, novel membranes for water purification, and process systems engineering and optimization.
