Student Course Evaluation Analysis

While student course evaluations can be difficult to interpret, they can be powerful tools for (re)designing courses or revising syllabi. We can help make your student course evaluations work for- you. Student course evaluation analysis involves reviewing a set of course evaluations for key themes. If you are interested in a particular course, several sets of evaluations might be examined.

The analysis is informal and confidential unless you specify otherwise.

The Student Course Evaluation Analysis process:

  1. First, one of our consultants examines the set of evaluations.
  2. Next, the consultant will send you a report outlining the main themes of the evaluations and feedback related to these themes.
  3. Optionally, you may schedule a discussion with the consultant to discuss next steps.

You might think of the consultant as “another set of eyes.” It’s easy to focus on negative comments and overlook important themes in a set of evaluations. A close look at course evaluations can validate what is working well and uncover valid suggestions for change.
