Alumni & Friends

Educators do more than simply impart knowledge. They give students the framework for critical thinking and kindle a lifelong enthusiasm for learning. Educators are role models who help shape our future. Few careers offer the challenges or the significant rewards that come with teaching.

The College's strong tradition of educating the leaders of tomorrow's schools is exciting and challenging work. Gifts from our alumni and friends support our work in preparing educators and make a difference in the lives of our students, faculty, communities, and nation. The choices we make today do shape the future. Join us. Your investment in the College of Education will bear dividends for years to come.

The College of Education recognizes and honors alumni and memorable former faculty. Honorees include individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of education and who have had a special impact on students, the College of Education programs, their academic discipline and/or the public. The winners are honored at the College’s annual recognition program.

Honor a Teacher

The UW College of Education Development board established the Honor a Teacher Scholarship fund to provide the opportunity for all of us to recognize those special educators who have inspired our sense of learning, helped us identify our uniqueness and talents, developed the means to reach our potential, and served as mentors. Find out how you can make a donation in your favorite educator's name.
