Literacy Research Center and Clinic | Awards & Grants

The University of Wyoming Literacy Research Center and Clinic (LRCC) Internal Seed Grant program provides small literacy related grants for University of Wyoming faculty, up to a maximum of $10,000, for promising research that addresses significant questions for the discipline of literacy research and practice and supports teaching and learning in Wyoming. It is the intent that such grants will provide researchers with the opportunity to develop important perspectives on the literacy field.

This doctoral research grant is a competitive grant of up to $5,000.00 offered through the generosity of Donne and Sue Fisher. Each year, one grant is awarded. The grant is established to support dissertation research focused on literacy development, processes, and/or instruction.

The Literacy Research Center and Clinic awards four doctoral student mini-grants each academic year. Each mini-grant awards up to $750.00 for literacy-related research and/or travel purposes related to that research. These mini-grants are made possible by the generosity of Donne and Sue Fisher.

Nominate a Wyoming citizen, organization, business or community for the Carol Mead Leaders in Literacy Award. Previous Leaders in Literacy recipients will not eligible for nomination, but nomination of previously unselected nominees is encouraged. Award winners will be announced at the Wyoming Business Alliance meeting in November in Cheyenne. Recipients will receive a $4000 award and a plaque recognizing the honor. Accomplishments that are noted should reflect substantial contributions made in Wyoming that exemplify a commitment to the literacy development of Wyoming citizens. Nominations are submitted electronically.
