The Department of English offers two separate minors to students. These minors are available to any student, and not limited to English Majors. Please contact the English Department for more information, or click below for details. If you are looking for the Creative Writing minor, it is part of the Visual & Literary Arts department.
Do you love reading, writing about, and discussing literature? If your answer is yes, then the Literary Studies minor is right for you. In addition to the marketable skills you gain and polish as you fulfill the program requirements, this minor combines enjoyment with intellectual excitement. Please note that this minor is available only to non-English majors and non-English Education majors.
Given the importance of communication in professional, civic, and personal lives, writing minors are proliferating around the country. The UW Professional Writing minor (PWM) is designed for students in any major in which effective written communication is highly valued.
