Spharagemon campestris
Spharagemon campestris is common on high-elevation rangelands and mountain foothills. It prefers thinly
vegetated grasslands and forest openings on coarse soil. Eggs overwinter in the soil.
Adults are present from late July to September. At higher elevations a two-year life
cycle may be possible. It is a mixed feeder but prefers grasses. It can be moderately
abundant but does not damage rangelands to a significant degree.
