Katie Mitchell - BS in Elementary Education from UW, MA in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in math. Ms. Mitchell is in her 7th year teaching. She has taught 2nd grade and 6th grade. Her coding experience began in the summer of 2017 when she attended ESP4T for the first time. She returned for 2 summers to participate in the program. Currently, she uses Arduinos with her students to introduce them to the basics of coding and circuits. After school, she coaches a LEGO League for 4th grade students. These students are also exploring coding through different programs including Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, Scratch, and online coding programs. For the 2019-2020 school year, she is teaching 2nd grade in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She enjoys exposing the students to the coding and allowing them to explore and learn on their own.
