A major gift from NextEra Energy Resources, LLC will support the growing Professional
Land Management program in the School of Energy Resources—one of nine undergraduate
programs accredited nationally by the American Association of Professional Landmen
and the only one currently offering a standalone four-year degree program. The program
trains graduates in determining mineral and surface ownership so that they can serve
as the public-facing agent for mineral and energy development lease negotiations.
This interdisciplinary practical learning experience includes the disciplines of law,
business, mathematics, and environmental science.

Devon Energy is a proud partner with the Wyoming Conservation Corps, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth in conservation that provides formal university-level courses—leadership in natural resource management, conservation leadership, wilderness medicine, and a month of field training. This is the company’s 17th consecutive year in support of the preservation and restoration of Wyoming’s beautiful public lands. Each year, Devon meets the new WCC crew, learns about their impactful summer projects, and lends a hand. In 2024, 39 Devon volunteers had the opportunity to work on constructing a trail for access to the North Platte River.
