Carissa Armitage

Carissa Armitage joined the legal staff of the University of Wyoming in 2025. She
is currently an Associate General Counsel. Carissa is a Wyoming native. She has a
bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Wyoming and graduated from
the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2019. Carissa previously worked as a trial
attorney at a non-profit law firm, where she advocated on behalf of underserved individuals
in need of civil legal assistance.
Carissa's duties in providing legal support and guidance to the University include,
but are not limited to:
Legal support for extensions & agricultural programs
Public law guidance
Training and education
Contract and policy review
Public records
Student education records (FERPA)
