Haub School Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors work with Haub School staff throughout the academic year to support the Student Services Team. They help out with greeting prospective students, assisting at events, and sharing their unique experiences within the Haub School. Below are the eight Student Ambassadors for the 23-24 academic school year.

Interested in applying to be a Haub School Student Ambassador? For the upcoming Academic Year, online applications open in May/June.

I am a Haubie because everything in my life is connected to the outdoors. My life is the outdoors. Therefore, I cannot imagine my life's work being unrelated to the outdoors.

Fun fact: I was a Wyoming Conservation Corps crew leader this past summer. I highly recommend finding a job that will pay you to work, eat, and sleep outside.

Why did you become a Haub School Ambassador?
I wanted to be more involved in the Haub School on campus and build my networks. I also wanted to help expand the Haub School's prospective as well as current students, showing diversity to Indigenous students.

I am a Haubie because I believe what the Haub school is doing is imperative to the well-being of minority communities.

Fun fact: I love creative writing and want to write my own novels someday.

Why did you become a Haub School Ambassador?
I wanted to share about the amazing memories I have made within my time in the Haub School. I have met the coolest people and professors and am so grateful for my time here at UW!

I am a Haubie because I love to spend time outdoors! It all points to God and glorifies Him. The Haub School gives you an opportunity to experience the beauty of Laramie and surrounding areas with people who are just as passionate about the outdoors as you are!

Fun fact: Laramie is a beautiful place with the most amazing people. I have formed lasting memories here that I will never forget! Also, the Haub School provides undergraduate students with opportunities/financial help with studying abroad which is an incredible opportunity!

Why did you become a Haub School Ambassador?"
I really love being a part of such an inspiring and connected community, I love the mission and goals of the Haub school, and I wanted to share that with current and prospective students!

I am a Haubie because I want to learn and be a part of positive changes in the world of conservation!

Fun fact: I am about to embark on a trip to Sumatra to help with some research wildlife research, orangutan conservation and collaborative community conservation!

Why did you become a Haub School Ambassador?
I have felt so welcomed by the Haub School in my first year here, and I want to continue that forward. Also, the programs here are genuinely why I am a Wyoming Cowboy, so I love telling people why it's the best being a Haubie.

I am a Haubie because I want to make change in the environment, and I want to have fun doing so. My love for science and conservation has guided me in finding a degree. Because of the compassionate people I have met and work with, I know I will continue to be a Haubie.

Fun fact: Is it alright if I do a quote? A recent favorite quote of mine from Hank Green: "We're just worms with limbs."

Why did you become a Haub School Ambassador?
I wanted to represent my favorite part of the University of Wyoming. I believe the Haub School molds students into the change we need to see in the world, and I want to represent that.

I am a Haubie because I want to make change in the world, and the Haub school fosters that change. I fell in love with the environment of the Haub school my freshman year. It is an extremely positive and uplifting place. I have never found myself leaving a Haub event without a massive smile on my face.

Fun fact: One thing about my undergrad is that I did not even know what I wanted to do until sophomore year. I just chose my ENR major because I enjoyed what the Haub school had to offer.

Why did you become a Haub School Ambassador?
I became an ambassador so that I could give back in thanks for everything the school has done for me so far. It’s a way for me to share my story and possibly inspire others to come here! As a freshman, I also think it’s a great way to get involved with the school while also gaining experience I’ll need for a future job.

I am a Haubie because I love the outdoors and wish to spread the same appreciation in a positive and fun way. Every Haubie I’ve met so far is unique, confident and kind. The one thing that unites us all is the outdoors.

Fun fact: Since I’ve arrived in Wyoming I’ve taken up rock climbing, swing dancing, fencing, horseback riding, hiking and even went on my first backpacking trip with the outdoor program.

Why did you become a Haub School Ambassador?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my last 3 years with the Haub school and want others to be able to experience all that the school has to offer.

I am a Haubie because I am passionate about the environment, I value a work/school/life balance, and I love a good adventure and the Haub school offers all of that. They stress the importance of having balance through hosting fun social events and workshops, while also fulfilling my adventurous spirit through study abroad programs, fun outings, and interactive courses.

Fun fact: The freedom to explore here. I absolutely loved my study abroad experience and encourage everyone to take the opportunity to go abroad. If you can't afford it many programs including the Haub school have scholarships and funding to help make it possible.
