External Scholarships

What is an external scholarship?

External scholarships are major, nationally and internationally competitive scholarships that can help you attend graduate school at some of the best universities in the world. Awarded by organizations that are independent of specific universities, these scholarships often pay full tuition and other costs for students seeking graduate degrees. These scholarships are highly desirable; as such, they are very competitive.

Should I apply?

Have you ever considered applying for an external scholarship? Not sure what opportunities are out there and if you might be competitive? The Honors College can help UW students think through and prepare an application for major national scholarships (whether you are in the Honors College or not). For each of the following scholarship, you must consult with us at honors@uwyo.edu to initiate timely support to complete an application.

Are you interested and want to learn more? Fill out our External Scholarship Interest Survey to receive follow-up support from the Honors College.
