IT Recognition
The UWIT Recognition Committee is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, appreciation, and community. By recognizing and celebrating the contributions of our colleagues, we support the University of Wyoming's commitment to institutional excellence and a supportive workplace where employees feel valued, connected, and inspired to contribute their best work. This recognition program honors the individuals and teams whose dedication, innovation, collaboration, and service help advance the mission of the University of Wyoming every day.
The committee has established several ways to recognize, highlight, and celebrate the accomplishments, dedication, and impact of UWIT employees who help advance teaching, learning, research, outreach, and administrative excellence across the University of Wyoming.
CIO Excellence Award
The CIO Excellence Award is presented at the discretion of the CIO and recognizes the exceptional contributions of UWIT staff and community members whose work exemplifies IT's strategic priorities and commitment to service.
All current UWIT employees and campus partners are eligible for nomination. Nominations may be submitted by anyone in the campus community and may recognize either an individual or a team.

Annual Awards
Each year, we honor the exceptional dedication, talent, and hard work of our UWIT team members. Across every unit, our staff and student employees demonstrate the core values and expertise that drive our campus community forward. We proudly recognize these outstanding individuals for setting the benchmark in excellence, collaboration, and service—fostering a culture of innovation, and dedicated service.
Nominations can be submitted beginning in January 2027 for each of the following awards.
Innovator Award
Honors an individual who drives change by taking calculated risks, executing a bold vision, and challenging the status quo.
Excellence in Leadership Award
Recognizes a person at any level who inspires excellence, empowers through teaching, and builds communities.
Excellence in Teamwork Award
Awarded to somone who supports others in achieving their goals, fosters open communication, and encourages new ideas.
IT Customer Service & Spirit Award
Celebrates someone who maintains a positive, respectful composure with customers, builds strong relationships, and fosters engagement.
Makes IT Happen Award
Highlights an unsung contributor who proactively solves issues, quietly drives success, and delivers high-quality work without seeking recognition.
Outstanding Student Employee Award
Commends an exceptional student worker who exceeds expectations, leads peers, and willingly takes on new tasks.
