Jessica Fernanda Gutierrez Gaytan
Bachelor of Arts: Social Work and Spanish
Minor: Latina/o Studies
My mother migrated our family to the United States 19 years ago with the American
Dream in mind. I grew up in Loveland, Colorado and found my passion for social work
in high school through a wonderful program of Restorative Justice.
Acknowledgements:
I stand here in representation of the Gaytan Family, for all D.A.C.A students and
for immigrants who cannot get a degree because of bigger challenges. My diploma isn’t
only mine but my family's, my community's, and above all my mom’s. Thank you for the
never-ending support of my family and people along the way through this journey!
SI SE PUEDE!
Future Plans:
After graduation I plan to work for a year, and then I plan to pursue a Masters in
Social Work at Colorado State University in the year 2021, and in the meantime work
for a year to save for the following year!
