Events

UW Mathematics and Statistics makes available a variety of learning opportunities that extend beyond the traditional classroom. We invite you to explore these professional organizations, and participate in some of the many opportunities to learn and grow.

1. Colloquia and Fisk Distinguished Lectures: a regular seminar series featuring world class mathematicians. Free and open to the public.
2. Seminar series: All seminars are normally held in Ross Hall 247. The regular seminar series are
   

   • Analysis, Mondays from 4:10-5:00 - Held in EN 2102 in Spring 2023

     • Organized by Dr. Zhuang Niu and Dr. Ping Zhong

   • Algebra, Combinatorics, and Number Theory, Tuesdays from 4:10-5:00

     • Organized by Dr. Eric Moorhouse and Dr. Jason Williford

   • Computational and Applied Mathematics, Fridays from 4:10-5:00

     • Organized by Dr. Craig Douglas and Dr. Long Lee

   • Graduate Seminar, Thursdays from 12:20-1:15 - Held in Ross 261 in Spring 2023

     • Organized by Mr. Vincent Ruzika

3. Conferences and Workshops
   • Rocky Mountain Mathematics Consortium: a summer school program for graduate students and faculty to spend two weeks addressing on an important mathematical topic.
   • Summer Mathematics Institute: for Wyoming high school math teachers that provides a two-week long, topic-focused session to enhance math education.
4. Wyoming Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges: a non-profit education association geared toward developing innovative math programs in Wyoming.
