Ursula holds a Diplom in Erziehungswissenschaft from the Universität Hamburg and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Iowa. She spent most of her childhood and young adulthood in Hamburg, Germany. She moved to the U.S. in 2001 and has lived in Laramie since 2007. What she enjoys most about teaching at the University of Wyoming is nurturing excitement for foreign languages, specifically German, in her students and helping them gain a broader perspective on life through teaching about German/Austrian/Swiss culture.

Stephanie Schottel holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Journalism and German from the University of Missouri-Columbia, as well as a Master’s degree in Germanic Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She is an online German instructor at the University of Wyoming and Barton Community College. She is a certified Neurolanguage Coach™ and a Ph.D. Candidate in Second Language Acquisition Research at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Her areas of interest include effective curriculum design for online language learning, as well as machine translation and its effects on second language acquisition.
