Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center at the University of Wyoming offers several programs and services throughout the spring semester for the campus community.
“Research is clear that there is a strong connection between well-being, happiness, academic success and professional productivity,” says Lena Newlin, Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center assistant director. “Whether you’re looking to improve your physical, emotional, financial, social or general well-being, we have something for everyone.”
The Wellness Center offers popular programs such as Big Sky Mindfulness Stress Management workshops, Cowboy Cooking classes, body composition classes and a 21-day nutrition challenge.
The center is introducing new programs this spring, including self-love and happiness workshops, and financial wellness workshops. Four coalitions also are available through the Wellness Center: A-Team Coalition, Exercise is Medicine Coalition, Lifesavers Coalition and “No More” Sexual Violence Coalition.
Newlin says the Wellness Center, to which access does not require a gym membership, is located in the southwest corner of the facility and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
