The University of Wyoming’s Helios Trio will perform “The Music of Claude Debussy” Friday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall.
Helios Trio is composed of UW Department of Music faculty members John Fadial, violin; Beth Vanderborgh, cello; and Chi-Chen Wu, piano. The trio’s performance is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature three of Debussy’s chamber works, including “Sonata for Cello and Piano,” “Sonata for Violin and Piano” and “Trio for Violin, Cello and Piano.”
“This performance is a recap of concerts Helios Trio recently gave in Spain, as guest performers at the Congreso Internacional in Oviedo, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Debussy’s death,” says Fine Arts Coordinator Kathy Kirkaldie.
The UW Department of Music sponsors a variety of music performances throughout the semester. For future events, visit www.uwyo.edu/music/upcoming_events/index.html.
