UW Board of Trustees to Meet Monday on Acting President Selection

A special meeting of the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is scheduled Monday, May 20, at 8:30 a.m. via teleconference.

A public vote of the board is expected regarding selection of UW’s acting president.

The meeting will originate from the First Interstate Bank Conference Room of the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. Members of the public wishing to listen to the open session via telephone may do so by calling 1-866-866-2244, using meeting ID 7745684#.

On Wednesday, the board interviewed three candidates -- Chris Boswell, Bill Mai and Neil Theobald -- for the position. The selected individual will begin serving July 1, at the conclusion of current President Laurie Nichols’ contract.

The Board of Trustees has not discussed details of the search for a long-term president, but members have expressed support for an open, transparent search process that involves stakeholders across UW’s constituencies, including Wyoming citizens. Details will be discussed in future open meetings of the board.
