A recently published summer schedule of programs to promote wellness is offered through the Wellness Center, located in the University of Wyoming’s Half Acre Recreation facility.
The Wellness Center works to create and support a culture of health and wellness at UW. The “Summer 2019 Schedule of Offerings” can be found here.
Summer programs include offerings for general wellness, and stress management and mental wellness.
“Research is clear that there is a connection among well-being, happiness, and academic and professional success,” says Lena Newlin, the Wellness Center’s assistant director. “Whether you are looking to improve your physical, emotional, social or general well-being, we have something for everyone.”
Among the Wellness Center’s popular programs are the “Big Sky Mindfulness Stress Management Workshop” series, “Kitty Cuddle” times and a Wyoming Health Fair blood screening. “Self-Love and Happiness Workshop,” a new program series, also is offered.
The Wellness Center, located in the southwest corner of the Half Acre Recreation building, is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. during the summer.
“No gym membership is required to access the Wellness Center,” Newlin says. “We are open to UW students, faculty and staff, and are committed to improving the health and well-being of the UW community.”
