Buie will be accompanied by UW Department of Music Professor Theresa Bogard on piano and joined for a collaboration by visiting Assistant Professor Sarah Herbert on trumpet. The recital will tie together common threads of new music for trumpet and music adapted for trumpet. The recital features works by Debussy, Turrin, Plog, de Falla and Shchedrin.
The recital also will feature the premiere of a new work for trumpet and piano by UW music Professor Anne Guzzo, titled “The Long Road.”
