Southern Avenue will bring its retro soul style of music to the University of Wyoming Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. in The Gardens, located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union.
Original roots music group Stillhouse Junkies will open for Southern Avenue. The concert is free and open to the public.
Southern Avenue combines the talents of a set of young musicians who bring their individual backgrounds to the group to create music that carries the Southern soul legacy into the 21st century.
Since the release of its debut album, Southern Avenue has played in more than a dozen countries and festivals such as Bonnaroo, Firefly, Electric Forest and Lockn’.
Stillhouse Junkies’ style of music is described as “original roots, blues, funk, swing and bluegrass music,” according to the group’s website.
The 7220 Entertainment Club Events Committee, which sponsors the concert, meets Mondays at 5 p.m. in Room 012 in the Wyoming Union.
Individuals needing assistance to attend events should call the Campus Activities Center at (307) 766-6340.
