Transgender Day of Remembrance will be observed with a free public event at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at United Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of Grand Avenue and 11th Street.
The Laramie Ministerial Association of All Faiths and the University of Wyoming Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion sponsor the event. Transgender Day of Remembrance is noted worldwide as a day to draw attention to the continued violence endured by transgender people or whose lives have been lost to anti-transgender violence.
UW choirs will perform during the event.
“Join our community to memorialize transgender people who have lost their lives to violence in 2019,” local organizers say.
