Each year, the Office of Institutional Analysis contributes data to a wide range of national and international publications that develop institutional profiles and rankings for colleges and universities. These organizations serve as trusted resources for higher education institutions to report and manage official data, while providing prospective students and families with valuable information about academic programs, student services, costs, and financial aid opportunities. They also play a vital role in supporting research, benchmarking, and institutional effectiveness efforts across the higher education landscape.
Institutional participation is critical for ensuring the information available through these publications remains accurate, comprehensive, and up to date. By contributing reliable data, institutions help students, families, researchers, policymakers, and other higher education stakeholders make informed comparisons and gain meaningful insights into colleges and universities. At UW, our participation in these national publications is essential for supporting institutional marketing, recruitment, and strategic planning efforts by helping ensure that external audiences have accurate, consistent, and meaningful information about the university that reflects UW’s strengths, performance, and mission.
Ultimately, participation enhances the quality and transparency of higher education information nationwide, advances important research initiatives, and empowers students to make well-informed decisions about one of the most significant investments in their future.
