Quick Start Program
Are you currently working toward your Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Wyoming and interested in pursuing a Master's of Science (M.S.) degree? The Quickstart program provides qualified undergraduate students an accelerated path towards the completion of an M.S. degree. This program allows students to apply up to 6 credit hours of 5000-level coursework toward both the B.S. and M.S. degree programs. After finishing their B.S., students will complete the remaining 24 credit hours of the master's program.

Master of Engineering
The Master of Engineering in Energy and Petroleum Engineering (M.Eng.) program develops
students' knowledge and skills in strategic areas and prepares them to take on more
advanced roles during the energy transition. The program can be completed in as little
as one year, with the option to study either on campus, remotely, or through a combination
of both. Remote learning provides the advantage of lower living costs, allowing you
to work while earning your degree from anywhere in the world.

Master of Science
The Master of Science (M.S.) in Petroleum Engineering enables students to develop
advanced technical skills that increase their marketability in the industry. Students
looking to pursue a PhD or academic career may choose the MS Plan A (thesis) option
to gain research experience under the guidance of our award-winning faculty. The MS
Plan B (non-thesis) option provides students with advanced knowledge and specialized
education of the petroleum engineering discipline.

Dual MBA/MS
UW offers a unique opportunity to earn two Masters' degrees in two years, with the
Dual Degree MBA/MS degree in Engineering program. Students who hold both an MS in
Engineering and an MBA set themselves apart from many when entering the competitive
marketplace upon graduation. Not only can they speak the technical lingo, they can
also understand the overarching strategy and operational goals while keeping in mind
the managerial/leadership role.

Doctor of Philosophy
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Petroleum Engineering is designed to prepare
students for advanced industry roles and academic careers. The goal is to develop
critical thinkers who can solve energy problems using innovative solutions. Students
have the opportunity to use world class facilities to conduct advanced research culminating
in the creation and defense of a research dissertation.
