Biography

B.A., Belmont College 1982; M.A., University of Texas at Austin, 1985; Ph.D., University of Texas at Austin, 1987

Harvey Hix is the newest member of the Philosophy department. His most recent book is American Anger. Others of his recent poetry collections include First Fire, Then Birds: Obsessionals 1985-2010, Incident Light, Legible Heavens, and Chromatic (a finalist for the National Book Award). His books of criticism and theory include As Easy As Lying, Spirits Hovering Over the Ashes: Legacies of Postmodern Theory, and Morte d'Author: An Autopsy.
