Computing Resources

UW's Advanced Research Computing Center (ARCC);  ARCC is the main research computing facility for the University of Wyoming, and is part of the Research and Economic Development Division. To learn more, click here. 
 
NCAR Wyoming Super Computing Center (NWSC); The NWSC is developing AI/ML Large Language Models (such as ChatGPT) to refactor High-Performance Computing codes to execute on GPUs. Faculty in the Atmospheric Science department are also investigating AI models for Climate and Weather forecasting. For more information about NWSC, click here.

AI Seed Grants

On January 28, 2025, the University of Wyoming funded twelve projects applying Artificial Intelligence to help solve problems in Wyoming and beyond. These projects spanned across a number of disciplines ranging from optimization of greenhouse microclimates to monitoring pronghorn antelope migrations. For more details, see this news release.
