Campus Recreation

This is a group fitness class tailored to a slightly older demographic than the typical college age. It gives this population the opportunity to build community support and work toward achieving fitness goals together. Objectives are to improve overall health, increase confidence, learn proper movement mechanics and enjoy this fun and motivating environment.

Spring 2026 Program details

  • Classes will meet Tuesdays in the Group Exercise Studio on the second floor and Thursdays in the Functional Fitness Space on the first floor from 12:10 - 1:00 pm.
  • Friday Pickleball: The south and Middle Historic Gym courts have been reserved every Friday from 12-1 pm through May 15. Bring your own paddles or rent them from the Equipment Rental Desk.
  • Fitness Assessment Days: Only one day of normal assessments this semester. Then we are adding one assessment workout.
    • Tuesday, Feb 3rd is the first assessment day (step test, ground-to-stand, single leg balance, push-ups, sit-ups, flexibility, body composition, etc.)
    • Thursday, February 5th will be a Benchmark Workout. I have added a page to the assessment packet that includes a place to score your workout.
  • End of Semester progress checks: Again, one day of normal assessments and one workout.
    • Tuesday, May 5th: Assessment Tests
    • Thursday, May 7th: Benchmark Workout
  • Register for class using the Campus Rec App on fitDEGREE** An active Campus Recreation Membership or daily pass is required to attend classes.
