Faculty/Staff Fitness

Class Description:

This is a group fitness class tailored to a slightly older demographic than the typical college age. It gives this population the opportunity to build community support and work toward achieving fitness goals together. Objectives are to improve overall health, increase confidence, learn proper movement mechanics and enjoy this fun and motivating environment.

Fall 2024 Program Details:

  • Classes will meet in Half Acre 225 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:15 - 1:05 pm starting August 26th through December 6th. 

  • On Fridays, the group will play pickleball on the south court of the Historic Gym in Half Acre from noon - 1 pm. If you have your own paddle, bring it. Otherwise, be prepared with your WyoOne ID to check one out from the equipment desk each time you play.

  • Fitness Assessment Days: September 9 & 11 and December 2 & 4

    • To give you some measures of current status, accountability, and progress throughout the semester, we will conduct fitness assessments pre- and post-semester.

    • Strength, flexibility, cardiorespiratory fitness, and body composition will be assessed during these dates via different measures. You may perform all of them or none of them, totally optional.

    • You only need to attend one of the two dates in September and December for testing.

    • No "class" theses days, it will be health-fair style.

  • Register for class using the Campus Rec App on fitDEGREE** An active Campus Recreation Membership or daily pass is required to attend classes.
