Employee Testimonials

"Applying for a group fitness instructor position has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made during my time at UW. Before college, I was naturally shy and hesitant to speak in front of others. Stepping into the studio challenged me to break out of my comfort zone. Teaching classes each week gave me the chance to develop my public speaking skills, connect with new students regularly, and build a sense of confidence I never expected to find through fitness. Through this role, I’ve gained not only confidence but also a strong sense of community. I’ve learned how to lead with energy and empathy and how to motivate others—skills that will stay with me far beyond the studio. I’m incredibly thankful for the friendships I’ve built with both participants and fellow instructors, and for the opportunity to be part of something that helps people feel stronger, healthier, and more connected. Being a group fitness instructor has truly shaped my college experience in the best way possible."

-Reilly, Cycling Instructor

"Working as a Group Fitness Instructor has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s such a privilege to help others reach their health and fitness goals, while also building meaningful connections with those who attend our classes. Being part of a supportive and energetic fitness team has truly made this role special. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to motivate and inspire others through movement."

-Caroline, Group Fitness Instructor

"Campus Recreation kick-started my fitness journey as a teacher and leader. It helped me gain confidence and individuality as a fitness instructor in a safe and supportive environment. I've had a lot of fun teaching a variety of students and members of the community who normally may not go to fitness classes."

-Karolina, Yoga Instructor
