Academic Year 2020-2021 Schedule Resources

The UW Return to Campus (PDF) plan is dedicated to creating a safe learning environment that brings students back to our Laramie campus. In response to the plan guidelines a few changes and adjustments to the fall schedule have been made. Many precautions are being implemented to ensure our return is done in a manner that prioritizes the health of our community. Below you will find details about safety measures and insights into your fall class schedule.

The first adjustment is to support social-distancing requirements by providing a 6-foot distance between students and faculty in the classroom. A triangulation was performed in each learning environment including classrooms, laboratories and lecture halls. This constraint significantly reduced the capacity of nearly every academic room, resulting in an aggregate space reduction of over 80% across our campus.

The second adjustment was changing the modality, or delivery method for several classes. Many face-to-face (F2F) classes and lectures will move to an online format – some with specific meeting times, and others that will be asynchronous, meaning class content will be available on demand. Many course changes are already reflected in your WyoRecords account, and final decisions on individual course modality are expected to be published by August 3rd. To learn what courses have changed for the fall 2020 semester, here are simple directions for identifying the mode of instruction for your current schedule.

The third adjustment to the fall schedule focuses on allowing our operations team to clean classrooms between groups by increasing the amount of time between classes. Previously, 10 minutes was allowed between classes, which will now be extended to 20 minutes. This means your class time start and end times may be different than when you originally registered. Please note: NO CHANGES are being made to length of classes or days they occur--only this adjustment to start and end times. This precaution will further reduce the density of students entering and exiting classrooms and hallways. A full look at the new class times is also available here.

Example of schedule changes for a Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule:
