Heather Chandler Headshot

Heather Chandler is an Academic Coordinator for the School of Energy Resources, where she facilitates Academic Program operations, student advising, communications, and experiential learning initiatives. Her work helps connect students with the resources, opportunities, and professional experiences that support their academic success and career readiness.

In her role, Chandler provides academic advising for undergraduate students pursuing one or more credentials within SER's Academic Program. She also develops and coordinates workshops, speaking events, conferences, field experiences, and other student-centered activities that promote hands-on learning, professional development, and engagement with industry partners. Through this work, she supports the evolution of SER’s academic programs to reflect generational shifts in student learning, changing industry needs, and a growing emphasis on student success beyond the classroom.

Chandler plays a key role in academic communications and marketing. She develops newsletters, website content, social media materials, promotional resources, and visual campaigns that highlight student success, program opportunities, and industry partnerships. Through this work, she helps strengthen visibility for SER’s academic programs while supporting student engagement and professional development.

Chandler joined SER in May 2024 as Office Associate, Senior for the Academic Program before transitioning to Academic Coordinator in April 2026. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Wyoming. Her background in information literacy, research support, writing, and communications informs her hands-on approach to supporting students, faculty, and Academic Program initiatives.
