Dr. Kami J. Danaei is the Academic Director or Associate Dean for the School of Energy Resources. Dr. Danaei is a first-generation college student, first attending Central Wyoming Community College prior to the University of Idaho for a bachelor’s in communication in 2008. She then returned to Wyoming and earned both her master’s in communication in 2010 and her doctoral degree in Educational Administration from UW in 2018. Dr. Danaei is certified in Quality Matters, NACAC Admissions for Emerging Leaders, ACUE Online Learning, and is a proud 2025 graduate of Leadership Wyoming.
As a former Professor, academic advisor, instructional designer, curriculum specialist, marketing director, admission recruiter/specialist and higher education administrator, Danaei has developed leadership skills and a drive for excellence in academic roles. She joined SER in 2021, and assumed leadership of all things Academic at SER. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, advising, mentoring program, career services, scholarship, experiential learning, curriculum development, assessment, and many more! Under her tenure, the Academic Program has grown exponentially with the addition of an academic minor, a 3+3 QuickStart program with UW’s College of Law, and several new certificate programs. Student enrollment has dramatically increased as well as alumni career placement, and industry-student engagement.
