Brown and Gold Commitment

International Students


This information is for the Fall 2023/Spring 2024 academic year. Unless otherwise noted, awards listed are for the academic year and not by semester.


The University of Wyoming is proud to offer the Brown and Gold Commitment to eligible international freshman students. The Brown and Gold Commitment provides annual financial support to select new international freshmen students based on their incoming cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Please note: All University of Wyoming financial awards are only available to eligible admits. The awards are subject to available funding and the approval of the UW Board of Trustees; they reserve the right to change said rates at any time.

Terms & Conditions


 

To be considered for the Brown and Gold Commitment, international students must do the following by August 1st, 11:59 pm MDT for Fall enrollment:

  • Apply for admission and submit the $40 admission application fee

  • Submit official high school/secondary school transcripts

  • Submit official TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores

  • Submit a completed UW Confidential Financial Statement

  • Be admitted to UW

Confirm enrollment by August 1, 11:59 pm MDT.

A student's commitment may go up based on their final cumulative GPA until August 1st, 11:59 pm MDT.

 

 

Initial Eligibility and Compliance

  • The Brown and Gold Commitment is only available to first-time, entering international freshmen seeking their first bachelor's degree.

  • It is renewable for up to 8 semesters (4 academic years) or up to the first bachelor's degree whichever comes first.

  • Students must maintain full-time continuous enrollment in Laramie campus courses (12 semester hours) during the Fall and Spring semesters each year but is not available for use during the Summer semester.

  • Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative UW GPA (evaluated at the end of each Spring semester).

  • Details regarding the requirements to receive and renew the Brown and Gold Commitment will be included in the award Terms & Conditions.
