This fund was created to help support undergraduate students at the University of Wyoming who are enrolled members of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe or the Northern Arapaho Tribe. The Wind River Promise Fund is intended to cover the full cost of undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees, contingent upon available funds*.
Students must be Wyoming residents who graduated from a Wyoming high school. They must be degree-seeking through UW’s Laramie or Casper campuses. UW Online students are not eligible for these scholarships. Students must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. They will also be required to provide proof of tribal enrollment; more details to come on that process.
* If available funds are insufficient to cover the full cost of undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees for all recipients that aid year, each qualified recipient will receive a prorated amount based on total funds available. The UW Board of Trustees reserve the right to change said rates at any time.
NEXT STEPS
- Apply for admission and submit the non-refundable $40 admission application fee.
- Submit official high school transcripts.
- Submit test scores (optional).
- Students selected to receive the Wind River Promise Fund must confirm their enrollment at UW by:
- May 1, 11:59 p.m. MDT - for students beginning in the fall semester.
- January 5, 11:59 p.m. MST - for students beginning in the spring semester.
Our office will consider final high school transcripts and/or any test scores as long as they are received no later than the first day of class of a student's incoming semester. This applies to students who have confirmed enrollment by the above deadlines. Increases are subject to available funding.
