Liquid Water Laser Spectrometry (CRDS)

A Picarro L2130-I Cavity Ring Down Spectrometer is used to measure the δ18O and δ2H ratios of liquid water. The instrumentation uses an autosampler coupled to a CRDS analyzer.  One µl of water is injected into a heated vaporization chamber.  After vaporization the water is allows to flow into a laser cavity for analysis.

Typical sample size:    1-2 μl

The newest of our two machines includes the ability to test of O17 isotopes.
