Affiliate Faculty

The SMTC collaborates with others to improve STEM education in Wyoming by offering master’s degree programs for educators and obtaining grants in order to provide high quality professional development for teachers. None of that would be possible without Affiliate Faculty. All of the faculty on the links below were nominated by the SMTC Advisory Board, agreed to affiliate with the SMTC and were appointed by Academic Affairs to 3 year terms. (Affiliate faculty is listed by college below).

Affiliate Faculty members help SMTC by:

* sitting on graduate student committees,

* reviewing applications,

* teaching classes and workshops,
 
* collaborating on research projects and initiatives,
 
* judging at the Wyoming State Science Fair, and
 
* helping the SMTC think about what’s important and how to do our work better.
 

SMTC helps Affiliate Faculty by:
 
* helping researchers think about “broader impacts’ for their grants,
 
* identifying, contacting and recruiting K-12, Community College, community and university partners,
 
* developing and teaching or co-teaching workshops,
 
* collaborating on grant proposals,
 
* handling submissions, paperwork and reports,
 
* providing accounting support,
 
* publicizing Affiliates’ projects, events and courses, and
 
* connecting with graduate student assistants.
  
This mutually beneficial relationship has worked well for 46 years! Thank you to all of these good people for their support!
