Aura: To represent UW pride, tradition, and the resilient spirit of Wyoming. Cowboy Joe is the living symbol of the University of Wyoming—bold, welcoming, and unmistakably Western, embodying Cowboy values of grit, community, and pride, creating an instant connection between students, campus life, and UW traditions.

Academic Interests:

  • Strong advocate for student success and academic excellence
  • A familiar face at academic celebrations, campus milestones, and student achievement events.
  • Undecided, but most likely looking at degrees in the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources

Social Media:

Favorite Campus Eats:

  • Cowboy Joe burns a lot of energy hyping crowds and welcoming new Pokes — so he knows where to refuel on campus.
  • Dining Center located in North Hall – the freshest carrots on campus.
  • Wyoming Union Food Court – quick bites between appearances to keep on schedule.
  • Wherever students are gathered – enjoys a good crowd of students, sneaking in some nose rubs and nosing into students’ backpacks. A master of deception and cuteness.

Connect with a Cowboy coach

Now that you've gotten to know our well-known Campus Characters, it's time to meet our Cowboy Coaches! As fellow UW students, our team of peer mentors have experience navigating the college journey and are here to help! The Cowboy Coaches spend a significant amount of time throughout each semester, meeting with students and offering guidance -- whether that's in the academic arena, helping find connections on campus or navigating issues in their personal lives. While all freshmen are required to meet with a Cowboy Coach once a semester, any student is welcome to find a coach and schedule a meeting!
