About Us

The UW English Language Center was established in 2015 to serve the university community with support programs for international students, scholars, and visiting faculty.

The ELC provides supports the UW international community by offering:

  • Intensive English Program—up to 20 hours of weekly class time designed to boost English language proficiency. Students will be confident in their academic abilities to pursue a degree at UW or other institutions in the American higher education system, or to participate in effective English communication for an increasingly global society.
  • Undergraduates—several 3-credit English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses specifically designed for University of Wyoming international students.
  • Graduate Students—a series of TA and RA training workshops throughout the semester and EAP 5010: Technical Writing for International Students.
  • And much more for international students, scholars, faculty, and their families!
