Agribusiness Leadership Program Highlights

Flexible Programming

Our asynchronous agribusiness certificate and minor programs were designed to be completely flexible and adjustable to your busy schedule. Both programs are completely online, so they can be completed from any location, at any time. Plus, they’re asynchronous, so you don’t have to finish one course before starting another. You can complete the coursework in any order you’d like.

At UW, we know it’s important to apply what you’re learning. That’s why students have the option to complete an internship as part of the agribusiness leadership program. Many students choose to do their internship at their current workplace, so they can showcase their new skills in their current roles.

What can you do with an agribusiness certificate or minor?

Once you’ve completed the minor or certificate program, you’re ready to apply what you’ve learned about agricultural finance, marketing and management! Graduates may take on more responsibility in their current roles, seek promotions or apply their skills in a new area of the industry.

Agribusiness means the business side of farming and food production. It covers everything involved in getting food and agricultural products from the farm to your table, including farming itself. It also includes things like seed supply, equipment, food processing, packaging, marketing and distribution. Big farms, small family farms, companies that make tractors and even grocery store chains can all be part of agribusiness.

Leadership in agribusiness means guiding farms, food companies or agricultural organizations toward success, not just by producing food, but by running the business well and sustainably.

A leader in agribusiness might:

  • Make decisions about what crops to plant or what products to sell.
  • Manage teams of workers, from farmhands to marketing staff.
  • Adapt to changes like new technology, weather challenges or market demands.
  • Build partnerships with suppliers, distributors and customers.
  • Plan for the future by balancing profits with things like environmental sustainability and community needs.

Are you ready to grow?

UW is excited to announce a new opportunity to level-up your agribusiness career! The agribusiness certificate can be completed 100% online and without a previous degree.
