About the Health Leadership Program
UW’s online healthcare leadership program provides students with a well-rounded education
and hands-on experience. Students take courses on the evolution of the American healthcare
system, healthcare quality and leadership. In addition to coursework, all students
may pursue an internship where they can apply their new skills.
This program includes two paths: a certificate and a minor. Anyone may pursue the
certificate program, whereas the minor is for current UW students. Both programs are
fully online, making them flexible and easy to access from anywhere.
Students must be pursuing a UW degree to declare a minor in health leadership. The
certificate is a standalone program.

What can you do with a health management certificate or minor?
A certificate or minor in health management prepares students for roles in healthcare administration, public health and clinical support. It’s a valuable addition for those studying health sciences, business or social sciences, offering skills to manage healthcare programs, improve operations and support patient care. Graduates often work in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities or public health organizations and it also serves as a strong foundation for advanced study in health-related fields.
A certificate in health leadership is ideal for students or professionals who want to take on leadership roles in healthcare settings. It's a great fit for those studying health sciences, nursing, business, public health or social sciences who are interested in managing teams, improving healthcare systems or influencing policy. It’s also valuable for current healthcare workers looking to advance their careers or move into supervisory, administrative or strategic roles.
