Intensive English Program Highlights

Experiential Learning Opportunities

The Intensive English Program is filled with hands-on opportunities where students learn about American culture and hone their academic English skills. These experiences include immersive language instruction, engaging campus connections, and impactful visits to unique Wyoming landscapes.

Comfortable computer labs, modern classrooms, and peaceful study areas are reserved solely for students in the Intensive English Program. The Global Engagement Office is the center of international student activity on campus and is home to the spacious International Resource Center, where students can connect, relax, collaborate, and enjoy meals together!

Global Engagement Office

The IEP is led by a group of attentive, dynamic, and professional instructors. They have vast experience in teaching English and provide our students with a safe and welcoming academic community. All UW IEP instructors have a master’s or doctoral degree in diverse subjects and are certified to teach English as a foreign language.

Students are not only exposed to immersive English courses but also to a curriculum that covers the academic culture and societal norms of university life in the United States. Students learn about American history and culture, with a special emphasis on Wyoming and the University of Wyoming. This ensures that graduates of the program are ready to pursue a degree right here at UW.

What can you do after completing the Intensive English program?

After completing the Intensive English Program, students have the reading, writing, speaking, and study skills to communicate effectively in English.
