About the Intensive English Program
The UW Intensive English Program (IEP) provides students with immersive courses and supportive campus resources in a safe, welcoming community. The IEP is offered in 16-week sessions for fall and spring semesters and an 8-week session during summer.
Key highlights of IEP are:
- Small class sizes are perfect for student-centered learning
- 20 hours per week of customized instruction in study skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking
- Academic cultural immersion through museum visits, guest lectures, local travel, and more
- Accelerator Program that allows students to simultaneously take undergraduate and IEP courses

Students must be high school graduates with basic English skills and obtain an F-1 Visa before entering the U.S.

What can you do after completing the Intensive English program?
After completing the Intensive English Program, students have the reading, writing, speaking, and study skills to communicate effectively in English. They will be confident in their academic abilities to pursue a degree at the University of Wyoming or other institutions in the American higher education system.
