Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management Program to Host Panel for UW Students

The University of Wyoming’s Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources will hold a panel discussion about the outdoor recreation and tourism management degree for interested UW students.

The panel discussion is open to any prospective or current UW student. It will take place Wednesday, Nov. 3, from noon-1 p.m. in Room 121 of the College of Business Building. Students who cannot attend in person can join remotely through Zoom. Lunch will be provided. For more details or the Zoom link, email dan.mccoy@uwyo.edu or call (307) 766-5009.

The panel will consist of current students, alumni and industry representatives. Current and prospective UW students who are interested in finding out more about the outdoor recreation and tourism management degree are encouraged to attend. Tourism is the second-largest industry in Wyoming and the largest employment sector.

Dan McCoy, degree coordinator and associate lecturer in the Haub School, will host the panel discussion.

“This degree is relatively new to UW and is frequently considered a discovery major, meaning students find the degree once they arrive at UW,” McCoy says. “Our hope for those who attend is to see the possibilities of fulfilling career trajectories in the outdoor recreation and tourism sectors in the state and region.”
