UW Clinic to Host Free Tax Preparation Help Sessions This Week

Members of the University of Wyoming community can receive free help in preparing their income tax returns Tuesday, April 4, and Thursday, April 6.

The UW Low Income Taxpayer Clinic will host the two help sessions from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Room 109 of the College of Business Building. Sandwiches and cupcakes will be provided. To sign up, go to https://calendly.com/uwyolitc/byotd

A team of volunteers from the UW Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and the Albany County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will help individuals in preparing and filing their income tax returns. Those seeking assistance should bring their tax documents as well as two forms of ID, such as a driver’s license, Social Security card or passport.

The UW Low Income Taxpayer Clinic opened last spring in the UW Department of Accounting and Finance. The clinic provides free legal representation to low-income taxpayers in federal tax disputes, and it also offers consulting services. Income guidelines do not apply to those who seek consulting services. Additionally, the clinic provides community education and outreach events throughout Wyoming.
