Applicants Sought for UW Office of Engagement and Outreach Director

The University of Wyoming is seeking internal applicants to serve as the director of the Office of Engagement and Outreach.

The individual hired in this role will work to cultivate and sustain universitywide partnerships with key organizations and leaders within Laramie and communities across Wyoming.

The position manages the development and implementation of a community engagement strategy that raises awareness and creates opportunities to advance UW’s land-grant mission and strategic priorities in alignment with community needs. This position works closely with units around the university to coordinate cross-department community engagement efforts, including the associate vice president for economic development and the provost’s office. This position reports directly to the vice president for governmental affairs and community engagement.

“Community engagement is fundamental to our land-grant mission and has long been a strength at the University of Wyoming,” says Vice President for Governmental Affairs and Community Engagement Mike Smith. “The reopening of the Office of Engagement and Outreach comes on the heels of the campuswide effort in pursuit of the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement, and the director of the office will spearhead statewide efforts to highlight existing outreach efforts as well as institutionalize, organize and cultivate UW’s efforts to grow our engagement with the entire state.”

Interested candidates will be proven leaders with at least seven years of experience in related fields, and a postgraduate degree and faculty experience are preferred.
