Cheney Study Abroad Grants

Cheney Fellowship for Excellence in Study Abroad

These are travel grants that assist students in covering costs for international and in-country travel during their study abroad. Recipients will demonstrate academic merit and financial need.

Award: up to $2500

Criteria:

Current UW Student planning to study abroad
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

30 hours of completed coursework for undergraduates (9 hours for graduates)
Degree-seeking student

Application Includes:

Essay on academic, professional and personal goals for education abroad experience
Letter of Recommendation

The Fellowship is a prestigious award that goes to students with outstanding academic records who are pursuing research or internships abroad. Limited awards per application cycle.

Award: up to $4000

Criteria:

Potential for significant contributions to field via international study and/or international research
Current UW student
Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above
30 hours of completed coursework (9 hours for graduate)

Application Includes:

Essay on academic, professional and personal goals for education abroad experience
Letter of Recommendation

Please note, scholarships will not appear unless an active application cycle is open.

Plan to apply for scholarships the semester before you go.
