Research Interests:
The Kane research laboratory will focus on chronic wasting disease (CWD) and translate these findings to other protein misfolding diseases. As CWD continues to spread both locally and internationally, environmental surveillance and detection technologies require expansion. Dr. Kane will bring years’ worth of assay development and environmental testing experience to CWD research. Additionally, Dr. Kane aims to extend prion biology concepts and techniques to other diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases.
Dr. Kane approaches research with multidisciplinary and highly collaborative approaches. Members of the Kane laboratory will specialize in multiple molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, western blotting, immunohisto- and immunocyto- chemistry, next generation sequencing, and others.
Memberships:
University of Wyoming Neuroscience Faculty
Teaching:
Dr. Kane will teach her first course at the University of Wyoming in spring of 2026.
