Healthy Aging and Technology Education for Older Adults

Using Technology to Supports What Matters

Getting older means life changes, and those changes deserve real support. At the Wyoming Center on Aging, we believe that every older adult deserves the tools, knowledge, and confidence to navigate those changes on their own terms. That's why we've partnered with GetSetUp to offer over 100 free classes for older adults.  Learn how to stay connected, manage your health, keep your mind active, improve balance and safety, and explore many other topics that support healthy aging. Family caregivers and healthcare professionals can also access valuable resources to help support older adults in their care.

What Is GetSetUp?

GetSetUp is a trusted online learning platform designed specifically for older adults. Classes are live, or on-demand classes available anytime by instructors who understand what it means to learn technology later in life. Real learning at a pace that works for you.

All classes are available free of charge through this partnership with the Wyoming Center on Aging and the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP).

Grounded in What Older Adults Actually Need

These classes aren't just about using technology; they're about what technology makes possible. Every class connects to one or more of the four pillars of age-friendly care, known as the 4Ms Framework:

WhatMattersTechnology should serve what matters most to you.

Classes in communication, social connection, transportation, and everyday life management help older adults stay in control of their lives — on their own terms.

Medication: The right medication, managed with confidence.

Telehealth access, prescription delivery apps, Medicare drug coverage tools, and medication reminder strategies help older adults and caregivers manage prescriptions safely and affordably.

Mentation: A sharp mind and a steady heart.

Brain games, mindfulness, sleep apps, dementia caregiver resources, and social engagement classes support cognitive health and emotional wellbeing — reducing isolation and building resilience.

Mobility: Keep moving. Stay steady. Age in place.

Chair yoga, Tai Chi, balance training, fall prevention strategies, wearable health monitors, and emergency response technology help older adults stay safe, strong, and independent at home.

Classes Are For Older Adults

Whether you've never touched a smartphone or you're ready to explore AI, there's a class for where you are right now. Learn how to video call your grandkids, manage your health from home, avoid scams, or find free entertainment online all in a welcoming, no-pressure environment.

Family Caregivers

Caregiving is hard work. These classes offer tools to reduce the demand from caregiving and provide dementia support, stress management, and tech tools to help you coordinate care. Wyoming families don't have to figure it all out alone.

Healthcare Providers

Recommend these classes as part of your age-friendly care approach. When patients know how to use telehealth, manage medications digitally, or track their own health at home, they arrive better prepared and stay better engaged between visits. These classes are a clinical tool, not just a tech tutorial.
