NPZS Loan Program

No Passing Zone System (NPZS) Loan Program

The University of Wyoming in cooperation with WYDOT developed a device which utilizes the two vehicle method to establish passing/no passing zones. The Wyoming T2 center worked with WYDOT to duplicate the original No Passing Zone System (NPZS) to make it available for use by local governments in the state of Wyoming.

The loan request form is below. You may make a request, but it is a first-come first-served basis. The form will ask you to provide your contact information, an estimated length of use (a maximum of two weeks) and schedule a return of the equipment. A waitlist will be maintained and after the device is returned the next agency will be contacted.

 Form: Request form

The form will ask you to make arrangements to either pick up the device or have us deliver it to you (NO SHIPPING). You may pick up and return the NPZS device for free from the T2 center or there is a fee of $100 for us to deliver and another $100 for us to pick up the NPZS.

Each agency is responsible for returning the device by the agreed date. A late fee of $25 per day will be assessed, if the device is not returned on time.  These fees will be used for future maintenance and repair. The device costs $10,000 to be made, if the device is lost you are expected to pay for the cost for a new one to be made.

A training video will be posted/shared on how to use the NPZS device. The University of Wyoming, WYDOT, and the T2 center are NOT liable for any implications/litigations associated with the use of the data generated by the NPZS. It is your agency’s responsibility to confirm the accuracy of data.

Thank you for your interest in the NPZS loan program, feel free to reach out with any questions.
